Just back from an entertaining weekend in Hamburg. Feel the need to warn people about the activities of the street girls-prostitutes who congregate outside the pubs.
We spent an entertaining and eye opening hour on Saturday night watching them operate. Basically if the customer needed money they would escort them to obey of the many ATMs around.
They would stand and watch, no doubt clocking the PIN number. They would then take the punter away and very shortly afterwards a female colleague would appear at the same ATM with a card or series of cards and try to obtain cash, then run away.
Our perception was the wallet was removed and then returned during sex by another person. No sign at all of any security camera which would help prevent.
The moral is if you must, leave wallet and mobile with a friend while you go with the girls! No sign of police who must know what goes in. Beware or visit the girls in the window, more expensive but far nicer and safer! Apart from Hamburg being a generally good spot to visit, the Reeperbahn is generally blsnd by day.
