This is a budget hotel, so we knew going in that the "amenities' will be non existent. But even budget hotels can be clean, crisp, friendly, and safe. The nearby Autumn Inn, for instance, is very tidy, friendly and clean.
The Knights Inn in Hadley is badly run. The public areas are absolutely filthy. The breakfast "room" - a table across from the front desk - has a dirty tablecloth so why would you eat food from it?
The offerings are bagels and muffins wrapped in plastic, a plastic carton of OJ sitting out on the table but not on ice, a pot of coffee and powdered coffee creamer. Obviously the owners want to get you out ASAP. The hallways are filthy too, the carpets and walls are dirty, stained, and worn.
The door to the inner hallway and ice machine is scratched and broken. The room itself is basic and the sheets seemed clean but there was something disgusting on the base back of the toilet that I do not want to think about it. The room is equipped with one tiny bottle of shampoo, one bar if thin white soap, two very thin bath towels, one hand towel and two washcloths. I think the sheets were clean and the room was quiet, however, we noticed a hourly customer in the parking lot and apparently after consulting with friends and family, this hotel does accommodate hourly customers.
Knights Inn Knights Inn management should be ashamed of itself for allowing people who have no ties to the community, do not care about the community, are not interested in assimilating into the community to run this hotel. There are many really well run hotels in the area, manny owned by the same family. In contrast these hotels are well run and are great examples of the brands they represent. Wyndham Hotels should be ashamed of itself and send an inspector to this hotel immediately.
